As a self employed businessman for over 20 years I worked in the events and hospitality sector with my own company, Ice2Art who would provide customised ice sculptures, fruit & vegetable carvings, chocolate and champagne fountains for weddings, parties and events.

Unfortunately, due to pandemic of 2020, I was forced to the shut doors of my business that I had worked so hard to build as the hospitality sector came to a grinding halt.

I am not the type of person to just stay in. I wanted to do something to help, so I picked up a part time job in Asda at the start of the Lockdown so that I didn't have to be confined to my own 4 walls. I did enjoyed this, as I was able to still interact and speak to people but I felt as though my skills and attributes were being under utilised

I have known Paul for over 20 years and I was delighted when he asked me if I would like to come and be a part of the Boomerang family in July of this year, and I have never looked back. I have really enjoyed being at the heart of our community, helping those who are the hardest hit by homelessness and material deprivation.

I do hold onto the hope that the events industry and the hospitality sector will come roaring back when this pandemic is over and I can resurrect my business, but I would also like to be a part of the Boomerang family going forward. It really is true that 'No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone'
